ABA Fieldwork

Excited to obtain real-world experience?

Experience the MLC difference with our ABA Fieldwork Program, accredited by the BHCOE.

MLC immerses Fieldwork Trainees in a distinctive academic atmosphere while offering them an enriching fieldwork experience. Our program is unique, and stands above the rest, since it has earned full accreditation from the BHCOE which has a stringent and demanding accreditation process. The MLC Fieldwork Program is superior to others. Client-led treatment and Natural Environment Teaching (NET) are major components of the MLC Fieldwork Program. By placing such a strong emphasis on working with people in their natural contexts, our trainees are guaranteed to acquire practical knowledge and abilities that will facilitate meaningful and productive learning experiences.

What will MLC Fieldwork Trainees Receive?

Fieldwork Trainees may anticipate a thorough and fulfilling experience at Michigan Learning Community, one that will equip them for professional success. The following are some of our program's salient features:

  • Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork: Trainees who are part of the MLC Fieldwork Program are typically able to take the concentrated supervised fieldwork track, which gives them a wealth of practical experience to help them learn and enhance their skills with more supervision and fewer hours than the supervised fieldwork track.
  • Assigned Primary Fieldwork Supervisor: Throughout their fieldwork experience, Fieldwork Trainees will get personalized support and direction from their assigned primary fieldwork supervisor through weekly one-on-one sessions and hands-on experiences.
  • Collaborative Learning/Cohort Experience: Bi-Weekly group supervision sessions are offered for all trainees collecting fieldwork hours. Study groups provide trainees with the chance to interact with and learn from their peers, obtaining insightful knowledge and a range of viewpoints. (Study Groups are scheduled based on the needs of trainees)

What Qualifications Are Needed for Trainees to Participate in MLC’s ABA Fieldwork program?

To accrue fieldwork hours, all interested trainees should submit an application to the coordinator of MLC's Fieldwork Program. Trainees who are interested in participating in MLC's Fieldwork Program must fulfill specified eligibility requirements. These specifications guarantee that trainees are eligible for the program and suitably prepared.

  • Enrollment in a Qualifying Master's Program in ABA: Students must be enrolled full-time in an ABA master's program that satisfies the requirements and standards.
  • Client Staffing: Fieldwork Trainees must work with an MLC client providing direct 1:1 services for at least 20 hours/week.
  • MLC Employee in Good Standing: Trainees must have worked for MLC at least 30 days and be a current employee in good standing with the company.

Our Promise

MLC guarantees that trainees who take part in our fieldwork program will have the skills and commitment required to succeed in the field of ABA by upholding these eligibility conditions. Frequently asked questions about fieldwork documentation can be found on the BACB
